Why
should I register a new domain name?
The addition of the new top-level domains means that some
of the 'good' names will now be available. If you didn't get
the domain name that you wanted (e.g. yourcompany.com)
because it was already in use by another institution, you
now have another chance to apply for a domain name that includes
your company's name, such as yourcompany.biz. Under
this name you can have your Internet provider set up a Web
site for you called www.yourcompany.biz or an
e-mail address like info@yourcompany.biz.
Also, current domain name owners will not be given any special
preference, so if you already have your domain name you may
need to secure your identity or product/brand name by pre-registering
for the new top level domain names, before someone else does.
